A Sotheby's auction film for HD Fashion

In December 2025 HD Fashion commissioned Amir Agaev, a Dubai-based fashion and jewellery photographer and videographer, to film and edit a vertical film of a Sotheby's auction during Collectors' Week in Abu Dhabi. The lot at the centre of it was a Birkin bag.
The event
Sotheby's held its first Collectors' Week in Abu Dhabi in December 2025. The auction Amir filmed took place at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island. According to The Art Newspaper, the inaugural week brought in a total of $133.4M, with the finale on Saadiyat Beach.
The task
HD Fashion (hdfashion.tv) asked for both parts of the job: filming at the auction and the edit. The format was vertical, 9:16, made to be watched on a phone.
How it was made
An auction is a live event: there is no second take and no way to stop the room. The film was shot as the sale happened and then cut into one vertical piece built around the sale of a Birkin bag. The same skills carry Amir's brand work: luxury objects filmed on location, framed for a phone screen, delivered in the format the client publishes in.
